Raja Ampat Liveaboards
The increasing number of Raja Ampat Liveaboards is testament to the quite simply fantastic experiences to be found on almost each and every dive. Raja Ampat is a fish lovers paradise and the schooling fish to be found in the region are quite simply magnificent. The sheer number of fish to be seen can be mesmerising, seemingly endless. For lucky divers aboard an Archipelago cruise to dive Raja Ampat the experience offers the chance to witness the food chain in full swing, with pelagic hunters tuna and Wahoo sweeping close, as well as jacks, snappers and smaller baitfish engrossed in their daily battle for survival.
The plummeting walls are interspersed with interesting caves and caverns ripe for exploration - all surfaces are encrusted with a colourful display of soft and hard coral growth. Sea mounts and pinnacles are also common in near the small islands of Misool, diving the fish filled sites through incredible underwater topography is a unique experience..
It must be said however, that Raja Ampat liveaboards are not all equipped to the same standards. Raja Ampat liveaboards do need experience in what can be a tricky destination, as visibility is not always high and currents can make for some challenging dives. The Archipelago Adventurer II dive crew will assess conditions and safety in the water prior to every dive to ensure the conditions are suitable for all divers to enjoy the diving, whether it be the islands around Misool or those in the northern region of Raja Ampat liveaboards' itieraries, including the famous Kri Island in the Mansuar region. When considering whether to dive Raja Ampat, it is important that divers consider the experience an operator has in the region.
